Oxalis hedysaroides, known as the fire fern, is not a fern but a flowering perennial plant native to the Caribbean. It is a member of the woodsorrel genus that grows to 30 cm height and 10 cm spread.Oxalis ‘Rubra’ Fire Fern’s foliage is a deep, dark maroon. An everbloomer that produces an abundance of little yellow flowers. This evergreen Oxalis is perfect in bright areas inside such as windowsills and sunrooms. Fire Fern needs to be kept warm, it will not be happy is temperatures drop below 60 degrees.
